The English text was reprinted by offset along with the Analects and issued by New Directions in New York 15 October 1969 as Confucius. The Great Digest. The Unwobbling Pivot. The Analects. The first printing was of 4040 sheets, 1000 clothbound at $6.50 and 3040 paperbound at $2.45, all with the statement on verso of title-leaf: “First published as New Directions Paperbook 285 in 1969.” The paperbound copies had pages 279-82 incorrectly printed as 279, 281, 280, 282. All save a few of these were corrected by the insertion of a four-page cancel. (For the clothbound copies the complete gathering containing the error was reprinted before the sheets were bound.)
