On page [16] is reproduced the first page of Ezra Pound’s original typescript, titled and (incorrectly) dated in Louis Untermeyer’s hand: “Ezra Pound to LU—a statement ‘in order to put the facts straight. Rapallo. 1932.” It was printed, with the incorrect date (and with the title erroneously identified as being “in Pound’s hand”), in Paris Review for Summer/Fall 1962—C1888— as “An Autobiographical Outline (Written for Louis Untermeyer).” For separate edition see A103. Letter VI, 1 March [1930], incorporates Pound’s translation of Heine’s “Diese 2 > P Damen,” in three 4~line stanzas.
