The contents and categories are identical with those of Personae (1926)—A27a— except for the omission of “Ballad of the Goodly Fere,” “Mr. Housman’s Message,” “Translations and Adaptations from Heine,” “Au salon,” “Au jardin,” “Silet,” “In exitum cuiusdam,” “Les Millwin,” “The Bellaires,” “The New Cake of Soap,” “To Formianus’ Young Lady Friend,” “Our Contemporaries? “Poems from Blast (1914),” “Cantico del sole,” “Homage to Sextus Propertius,” “Cantus planus,” and the addition at the end of “Early Poems Rejected by the Author and Omitted from His Collected Edition” (“In tempore senectutis,”” “Camaraderie,” “An Idyl for Glaucus,” “Canzon: The Yearly Slain” [with Manning’s “Koré”], “Canzon: Of Incense”).

Note: This book has been reprinted at frequent intervals, with impressions identified on verso of title-leaf. A new edition (2300 copies) was published, also by Faber and Faber, 25 March 1949; its contents are identical with those of the first edition save for the addition of a brief “Postscript: 1948” to T. S. Eliot’s introduction, and the alteration in title of one poem from “Dieu! Qu’il la fait” to “Dieu qui I’a faicte.” This edition has itself been reprinted, with impressions identified on verso of title-leaf, it was issued at 6s. in the series “Faber paper covered Editions” in 1959.
