Fly-title and recto of ninth leaf printed in lavender ink. The text is on Saunders paper; the wrappers are of Kizuki and Tosa papers. This Autobiographical Outline was communicated to Louis Untermeyer as a letter (Letter V in EP to LU: Nine Letters Written to Louis Untermeyer ... (1963)—A81, where the editor, J. A. Robbins, points out that the date 1932 assigned to the letter in a manuscript note by Untermeyer on the original typescript is an error for 1930, according to both internal evidence and “Mr. Untermeyer’s reflection on the point”.) It is here reprinted from the Paris Review for Summer/Fall 1962— C1888—retaining the incorrect dating and the erroneous identification of Untermeyer’s notation as “In Pound’s hand”.
